Regardless of a school's classification,
Howells football is big-time. The 8-Man powerhouse further solidified its status when two-time all-state defensive lineman
Nathan Bazata recently announced he will play at the Division I level in college.
The 6-foot-3, 270-pound junior committed to Iowa after a recruiting visit, according to the
Lincoln Journal-Star. Bazata said the reason was simple.
"The people are just awesome. I felt at home when I went there because it reminded me of Howells, only bigger," Bazata told the newspaper.
Bazata, who had 101 tackles and nine sacks last year, also reportedly had an offer from South Dakota State, and had received interest from Big Ten counterparts Michigan and Nebraska, as well as Kansas and Kansas State.

In other recruiting news, Bazata will be joined at Iowa by
Carmel (Ind.) linebacker
John Kenny. The junior, who had nearly 100 tackles last season, chose the Hawkeyes over Arizona, Boise State and Indiana, according to the
Indianapolis Star.
Pittsburgh landed another top Indiana prospect when it received a commitment from
Plymouth (Ind.) offensive lineman
Dan Samuelson. Samuelson is a 6-5, 290-pounder who also considered several Big Ten programs, including Illinois, Michigan, Purdue and Northwestern, among others, according to the
South Bend Tribune.
Also,
The Seattle Times reported that
Bellevue (Wash.) linebacker
Sean Constantine will stay close to home and play for Washington.
"I've seen some great schools, gone through the process and I'm just thankful for the opportunity," the 6-2, 228-pound junior told the newspaper. "I just felt like the Huskies were the right fit."
