Alex Collins reportedly had his letter of intent stolen by his mother.

There is a lot of mystery surrounding running back Alex Collins on this year's National Signing Day.

After verbally committing to Arkansas on Monday, Collins was expected to sign his letter of intent today during a ceremony at South Plantation (Fla.) — but Collins never showed up.

After several reports that Collins had not yet signed, ESPNU eventually announced the peculiar reason for the delay.

"His mother has confiscated the papers, she took them and she ran," said ESPNU's Corey Long. "They’re looking for her currently. From what I understand Alex is not at the school right now, he’s looking for his mom. She was quite torn up about him leaving so far from home."

Long reportedly got his information from two sources, but we have yet to hear any specifics about the odd story.
