Ray Lewis III, Lake Mary Prep

The Orlando Sentinel reports that Ray Lewis lll set a Seminole County record as Lake Mary Prep (Lake Mary) (11-0) defeated Deltona Trinity Christian (Deltona) 38-12 during the Class 2A region semifinals.

With his father, NFL star Ray Lewis II watching from the bleachers, the younger Lewis ran for 216 yards and a pair of touchdowns and also passed for one touchdown. His 72-yard touchdown run in the third quarter gave him 89 career touchdowns, breaking the previous record of 88 by former Lake Howell star Marquette Smith.

*Sty Hairston ran for 484 yards and six touchdowns to spark Banning (Calif.) to a 71-14 rout of Linfield Christian (Temecula) during the East Valley Division semifinals. Four of his touchdown runs were over 70 yards.

The 5-foot-11, 180-pound senior told the Riverside Press-Enterprise, "I can do anything I put my mind to. I don't feel like unstoppable, but I feel like I can keep doing this."

Linfield Christian coach John Stockham called Hairston "the fastest high school football player I've ever seen."
