A car crashed into the Paul VI team bus on the New Jersey Turnpike en route to its opening-round playoff game on Saturday morning.

Paul VI (Haddonfield, N.J.) made its first ever football playoff trip to Paramus Catholic (Paramus, N.J.) on Saturday morning, but the trek to take on the No. 1 seed in the non-public Group IV playoff bracket did not go as planned.

A car attempted to change lanes between the team's two buses, clipping one and smashing into the second. It then spun and hit a third car, which reportedly contained a pregnant woman.

The accident occurred on the New Jersey Turnpike near Woodbridge.

According to Paul VI assistant coach Chris Crowley, some players were shaken but appeared physically sound. More than an hour later, the team was able to resume its trip.

Injuries to passengers in the other vehicle are not yet known.

Kickoff was originally scheduled for 1 p.m. Paramus Catholic head coach Chris Partridge told MaxPreps that the kickoff would be delayed.
