In a field packed with challengers from Georgia, New York and Pennsylvania, a pair of local powers advanced to the final of the Montverde Academy Invitational on Friday night outside of Orlando, Fla.

Montverde Academy did its part with a 78-61 win over
Roman Catholic (Philadelphia), while
Orlando Christian Prep earned some style points with a 69-37 victory over
Mount Vernon (N.Y.). Both Orlando-area schools are loaded with future Division I players and have had a competitive rivalry in recent years, setting up a potentially entertaining Saturday night championship game.
Florida signee
Michael Frazier, a 6-foot-4 national Top 100 senior guard, led Montverde Academy with 15 points. The Eagles were bounced in the semifinals of their own tournament a year ago but won it 2010.
Montverde Academy is ranked No. 9 in this week's Academy Top 10.
Orlando Christian Prep was led by sophomores Reggie Oliver (5-9, 173) and Jonathan Joseph (6-5, 186) with 13 points apiece.
Jordan Montgomery, a Kennesaw State signee, added 11.

Patrick Holloway scored a team-high 20 points to lead
Paul VI (Fairfax, Va.) to a huge Washington Catholic Athletic Conference win over
DeMatha (Hyattsville, Md.) on Friday night, 64-62.
The victory kept Paul VI perfect in WCAC play and sets up a showdown with unbeaten and national No. 2
Gonzaga (Washington, D.C.) next Tuesday.

Marcus Derrickson (12) joined Holloway in double figures for the Panthers.

Jerami Grant led DeMatha – ranked No. 9 in this week's Xcellent 25 – with 17 points. The Stags started 15-0 but have lost three of their last five games.

St. John Bosco (Bellflower) in a highly-anticipated Trinity League matchup.
Reinhardt drilled five 3-pointers in the first quarter Friday night against the Braves, giving No. 8 Mater Dei an insurmountable 32-11 lead after the first eight minutes. The future Runnin' Rebel finished with 22 points and finished with six makes from beyond the arc as the Monarchs won 86-71.
St. John Bosco entered the contest 16-4 overall and unbeaten in Trinity League play behind the high-scoring exploits of brothers
