Roy Williams is making sure the point guard position is well-stocked at North Carolina for years to come.

The Tar Heels already have highly-touted freshman floor general Marcus Paige on the roster and will welcome Top 100 senior Nate Britt of Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Va.) to campus next fall.

UNC received another PG commitment Monday when five-star junior Joel Berry of Lake Highland Prep (Orlando, Fla.) delivered a pledge to the program.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, Berry visited Chapel Hill over the weekend.

"After the weekend was over, I just knew North Carolina was the school for me," Berry told the Sentinel.

Ranked the No. 11 prospect in the Class of 2014 by MaxPreps, Berry is averaging 27.8 points, 7.9 rebounds and 3.6 steals per game for Lake Highland this season. The 6-foot junior missed five games in December – including the prestigious City of Palms Classic – while recovering from a knee injury, but the Highlanders are 10-0 with him on the floor this season.

As a sophomore, Berry was named Mr. Basketball in Florida after putting up over 25 points per game and leading Lake Highland Prep to the state's Class 4A state championship game. He followed with a successful summer campaign on the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League circuit with Each One-Teach One, which has featured a number of talented guards over the years, including Austin Rivers and Trevor Lacey.

Berry is North Carolina's first 2014 verbal commitment.
