Evangel Christian Academy (Shreveport) defensive end Jermauria Rasco signed with LSU on Wednesday afternoon ending months of speculation as to his college choice. Rasco, rated 49th nationally by MaxPreps, announced his decision in a crowded signing ceremony at the Evangel Christian cafeteria.

Rasco, a 6-foot-4, 244-pounder, was Louisiana's top remaining uncommitted player before choosing LSU over Florida, Florida State and Texas. He made his final official visit to Florida last weekend.

In helping Evangel Christian to the Class 2A state championship last fall, Rasco piled up 156 total tackles, including 21 quarterback sacks. Rasco recorded 26 sacks as a sophomore.

Rasco's high school defensive coordinator was Byron Dawson, an Evangel Christian product who played defensive tackle at LSU from 1999-2002.
