Covering High School Sports in America
I was lucky enough to see Shaq Thompson live in person five times during his varsity career. And every time I walked away more and more impressed.

So when I heard that junior Su'a Cravens had a similar game to Thompson, who is ranked the No. 5 overall prospect in the Class of 2012 and has signed to play at Washington, I had to get a hold of his film to see what the hype was about.

Cravens is 6-foot-2, 210 pounds and plays safety, running back and will even line up at wide receiver for Vista Murrieta (Calif.). Thompson is listed around the same size and played safety, running back and quarterback for Grant (Sacramento, Calif.).

Take a look at the game film of Cravens below. What caught my eye, similar to Thompson, was how fast he gets to the ball on defense. And when he gets to the ball he's not looking to just make a tackle, he's looking to hit. That is what a safety is all about. It is not hype with Cravens, he is the real deal.

Cravens finished his junior year rushing for 15 touchdowns, hauled in another four at wideout and had 100 total tackles and 11 sacks on defense. He was named to the MaxPreps U.S. Air Force All-American Team.
