Gainesville and outfielder Michael Gettys, the No. 2 player in the nation, will face Venice at the National High School Invitational.

The National High School Invitational baseball tournament gets underway tomorrow with 16 of the top teams in the country competing at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, N.C.

Four teams ranked in the Xcellent 25 will compete in this year's event — No. 8 Roberson (Asheville, N.C.), No. 10 Venice (Fla.), No. 15 Clovis (Calif.), and No. 16 ThunderRidge (Highlands Ranch, Colo.).

Action begins at noon ET when host Roberson takes on Huntsville (Ala.). Roberson is one of four teams that returns to the NHSI. Venice (Fla.) and Milton (Ga.) also played in the tournament last year while Parkview played in the event in 2012.
