Nicknamed "Smoke" because of his elusive running, Taquan Mizzell made a commitment today to the University of Virginia football program, according to the Washington Post.

The 5-foot-10, 190-pound senior running back rushed for 1,098 yards and 23 touchdowns last year at Bayside (Virginia Beach, Va.) and continues the pipeline of players from his school heading for Charlottesville. He had close to 20 Division 1 offers and also strongly considered West Virginia and North Carolina.

Mizzell is rated a five-star prospect and is the No. 93 player in the nation, according to CBS/MaxPreps recruiting analyst Tom Lemming. He is Virginia's 18th recruit in the Class of 2013.
