Covering High School Sports in America

It may be called a throw-in, but Brianna Pike added a little flair. It ended up leading to one of soccer's coolest combinations: Flip throw-in and a goal.

Pike's toss reached teammate Ali Herdliska and she knocked it in to give Solon (Iowa) a 10-0 victory Friday over West Liberty (Iowa).

It's hardly the only time a flipping throw-in has led to a score in high school soccer, as Randy Gordon of Hackensack (N.J.) managed to throw the ball past the goalkeeper last year.
