During a championship run by the U.S. team at the recent FIBA Under-17 World Championship in Lithuania, Jabari Parker of Simeon (Chicago) missed a handful of games because of injury.

Now it's official as to why. According to his father Sonny Parker, as reported by the Chicago Tribune, the top-rated recruit in the Class of 2013 has a fracture in his right foot.

The extent of the injury, which was sustained during the event, is still to be determined.

"They don't know," Sonny Parker told the newspaper. "He is doing OK. All indications are he has a fracture. They're going to get more opinions."

Despite the fracture, the 6-foot-8 forward played in the gold medal game and scored 12 points in a 95-62 win against Australia.
