Clear Lake was dealt a stunning loss thanks to the heroics of Travis receiver Cody Moncure.

Trailing 35-31 to Clear Springs (League City, Texas) with less than 30 seconds remaining in the game, Fort Bend Travis' (Richmond, Texas) season was in serious jeopardy.

Luckily, receiver Cody Moncure saved the day.

The 6-foot-2, 185-pound senior beat double coverage and brought in a fourth-down pass from quarterback Teagan Nehls to give Travis a 37-35 lead with only 16 seconds to play.

Moncure tapped the ball up in the air to himself, then dove to the ground to secure possession and complete the stunning play.

Travis held on for the victory and will take on Deer Park in the next round of the Class 5A-I playoffs.

Moncure could hardly describe his play afterward.

"We've won plenty of games just like that, but it happened so fast, and there was so much emotion on that play, I can't tell you what happened," he told the Fort Bend Sun. "But this is where we dreamed we would be. We've been working on this since we were seven years old."
