Covering High School Sports in America

From Washington correspondent Nathan Joyce.

8:45 a.m. EST Cody Peterson has committed to become a running back in Navy's triple-option attack, The Olympian newspaper has reported.

Peterson is the career rushing leader at Black Hills (Tumwater, Wash.). He rushed for 5,822 yards and 64 touchdowns. Peterson, despite tearing his meniscus in a June mini-camp, rushed for a school-record 2,138 yards and 23 touchdowns as a senior.

He took a visit to Annapolis, Md., over the weekend. He commanded Navy's attention by sending it game tapes over the summer.
