Undoubtedly, it was a Seniors Night that members of the Green Hope (Cary, N.C.) boys basketball team, in particular Nitin Reddy, will never forget.

Reddy, who has autism-like special needs according to the Charlotte News Observer, received his first opportunity to play in a varsity game after serving as a team manager for four years.

After drawing a big ovation when he entered late in the game, the night ended with Reddy being carried off the court on the shoulders of his teammates after he made a 3-pointer during his brief stint.

As recounted by the newspaper, which posted video of Reddy's entire time on the court, the successful shot bounded high off the front of the rim then dropped through the net. The crowd responded enthusiastically, to say the least, and later chanted his name.

Reddy took six shots from behind the arc in nearly 2 minutes of playing time, as Green Hope won 61-34.

"I thought it wasn't going to go in," Reddy told the newspaper. "But after it hit the rim, it did."
