TCU's rise to prominence in recent years has helped it scoop up more recruits in the Dallas area, and it got a big one Wednesday when Waxahachie defensive back/receiver Ladarius Brown
signed with the Horned Frogs.
Brown, MaxPreps' No. 19 athlete recruit in the nation, also had scholarship offers from schools such as Oklahoma, Alabama, Auburn and Notre Dame. He didn't have big statistics as a senior, but the numbers show his versatility. He caught 39 passes for 781 yards and eight touchdowns, rushed for four scores and also returned an interception 88 yards for a touchdown.
Waxahachie coach David Ream calls Brown "the total package."
TCU's recruiting class, which the school is touting as its best ever, also includes another star player classified as an "athlete." That's Euless Trinity quarterback/receiver/defensive back Brandon Carter
, who dropped his oral commitment to Oklahoma last month and chose the Horned Frogs.
