junior Kyler Murray
has been making waves on the baseball diamond this spring.
Murray went 5-for-7 in a pair of wins over McKinney last week while belting a pair of home runs in one of the games and bashing a double in the other.
"Normally, he's our catalyst," Allen coach Paul Coe told the Dallas Morning News
. "He kind of takes what they give him and he works within that and never tries to do too much."
In football, Murray was the 2013 MaxPreps National Player of the Year
after leading Allen to the No. 2 national ranking
, a 16-0 record and a Texas Class 5A state championship.
In baseball, Allen is 20-8 and ranked No. 8 in the Dallas area by the Morning News. Murray is batting .451 with five doubles, three triples, seven home runs, 26 RBIs, 14 stolen bases and 24 runs, according to the Morning News.
