Covering High School Sports in America
The biggest games of the Colorado high school basketball season will be played later this week, as the state tournaments in all five classifications conclude Saturday.

The state's top 40 players, though, had an opportunity to look ahead a bit Monday when the post-season's premier all-star game, The Show, announced its rosters for the 2012 event. The boys and girls all-star basketball games, sponsored by the Denver Nuggets and the Gold Crown Foundation, will be played April 6 at the Pepsi Center before and after the Nuggets and Phoenix Suns game.

And it should be no surprise that 18 of the selections (nine boys, nine girls) have their teams in contention to raise a state championship trophy. The players and coaches were selected by a panel of statewide media, which included MaxPreps. The game includes players from all five classifications.

Of note, Denver Christian coaching icon Dick Katte, in his 48th and final season with the Crusaders, will coach the Blue Team for the boys.

Special ticket packages, that include both high school games and the NBA game, are available for the 12th annual event. Packages start at $12 and are available only through the Nuggets sales office at 303-287-DUNK. The girls game is scheduled for 3:30 pm, while the boys will play after the Nuggets game at approximately 9:30 pm.
