If UConn coach Geno Auriemma shows up, you know it's a big deal. And Centerville's (Ohio) 54-48 girls basketball win over Fairmont (Kettering, Ohio) was huge.

Centerville after tourney win.

Not only was it large because the game pitted top 20 teams, with No. 17 Centerville (17-1) upsetting No. 5 Fairmont, but because the victory snapped Fairmont's 37-game Greater Western Ohio Conference Central Division win streak.

The game, according to J.J. managing editor and MaxPreps correspondent Eric Frantz, was also played before 2,500 fans at Trent Arena.

According to Frantz writing for the Dayton Daily News, Bethany Krause led the victorious Elks with 20 points and Alex Henning added 16 and was key down the stretch. She was held scoreless the second half until she delivered a 3-point play with 1:10 to go and then four more free throws down the stretch.

The Bucknell recruit was only about 80 percent with an elbow injury.

"I wanted the ball because I knew I could hit the free throws," she told Frantz. "I wanted to make the shot for us."

Kathryn Westbeld led all scorers with 24 points for Fairmont (14-1), which had defeated Centerville 11 straight times.
