Though just a junior, Will Grier continues to rise in the Mecklenburg County record books and enhance his reputation as a strong Division I college prospect.

During his latest effort over the weekend, the 6-foot-3, 185-pounder completed 29 of 36 passes for 493 yards and six touchdowns as Davidson Day (Davidson, N.C.) defeated North Raleigh Christian Academy (Raleigh, N.C.) 42-35. According to the Charlotte Observer, his six touchdown passes - four of at least 42 yards - tied for third in Mecklenburg County history (he also had six as a sophomore), and the yardage ranks No. 4 in history.

*East Lincoln (Denver, N.C.) outlasted Hopewell (Huntersville, N.C.) 61-59 in a game that lasted three hours and 15 minutes. Quarterback Garrett Young completed 18 of 26 passes for 347 yards and five touchdowns to become his school's career passing leader. In a losing cause senior Tijuan Sifford threw for 472 yards and five touchdowns.

*North Gaston (Dallas, N.C.) snapped a 28-game losing streak with a 35-6 victory over East Gaston (Mt. Holly, N.C.).
