St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.) was ranked No. 10 in our preseason national rankings. But after a pair of disappointing tournament losses last week, the Braves were bounced from the first edition of the regular season rankings.

Saturday in Chicago, Bosco bounced back by stunning No. 6 Whitney Young on a buzzer beater in the final seconds by Connecticut-bound senior Daniel Hamilton. Take a look (Footage appears to have been taken by Sean Moran @SeanMoHoops):

The shot gave St. John Bosco a 62-59 win in the featured matchup of the Chicago Elite Classic and a 3-2 record on the season. The Braves next take the floor against defending Florida 3A champ Providence (Jacksonville) at the City of Palms Classic in Fort Myers, Fla.

For Whitney Young, 6-foot-10 center Jahlil Okafor finished with 24 points and 12 rebounds according to Mike Helfgot of the Chicago Tribune.

The Windy City came out on top in another national showdown in the Chicago Elite Classic. Cliff Alexander and Curie (Chicago) knocked off No. 4 Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas). Alexander went for 22 points and 20 boards in the win.
