Senior running back Peter Warren set one Minnesota state record and tied another Tuesday night as Cook County (Grand Marais, Minn.) routed Cass Lake-Bena (Cass Lake, Minn.) in the Class A state quarterfinals.

Warren ran for eight touchdowns to tie the state record, which was set in 1966, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Counting two-point conversions, he also scored 52 points - two more than the previous state record for a single game which had stood since 2006.

The 175-pounder scored mostly on short runs and did it all in the first three quarters. He finished his spectacular night with 19 carries for 253 yards.
