Notre Dame's top-ranked recruiting class received yet another big boost, by signing arguably Southern California's top interior lineman Troy Niklas

The 6-foot-5, 265-pound Servite High School senior is unquestionably the region's most versatile lineman as he's spent time on both the offensive and defensive line and tight end.

Niklas picked the Irish over hometown USC. He led Servite to its second straight Southern Section Pac-5 title before losing in the CIF State Open Division championship game to De La Salle. In that game, Niklas had a game-high 12 tackles.
