Beecher coach Mike Williams told the Flint Journal, "... he caught fire tonight - he scored his career high in points. Once he saw that, Monte (Morris) started targeting him and made sure Cooper was getting the ball early and often. The kids rallied around him and kept feeding him."

Morris, normally the team's leading scorer, dished out 15 assists while scoring 12 points and making seven steals. Markel Lucas added 14 points and 12 rebounds.

The victory extended Beecher's winning streak to 37 games. Earlier in the week, it beat Hill-McCloy (Montrose, Mich.) 84-52 as Morris posted 33 points, 10 assists, eight rebounds and five steals.

* On the girls side, Duncanville (Texas) (28-0) cruised past DeSoto (Texas) 56-32 for its 56th consecutive victory. Kiara Perry led the way with 22 points and seven rebounds. Ariel Atkins added 15 points.
