Covering High School Sports in America
John Calipari's magic touch on the recruiting trail is bordering on absurdity.

Thursday, James Young of Rochester (Rochester Hills, Mich.) became the 15th five-star prospect to commit to Calipari since he arrived at Kentucky in 2009.

Young, a 6-foot-6, 210-pound lefty guard/wing, is ranked No. 7 in the MaxPreps Class of 2013 Top 100. He averaged over 25 points and 10 rebounds per game as a junior at nearby Troy High School before transferring to Rochester over the summer.

A product of The Family club team, Young is the third five-star guard to pick the Wildcats in the last seven days. A week ago it was identical twins Andrew Harrison and Aaron Harrison of Fort Bend Travis (Richmond, Texas) – the Nos. 1 and 2 prospects nationally, respectively – announcing they were heading to UK.

Calipari also has a commitment from 6-9 forward Derek Willis of Bullitt East (Mt. Washington, Ky.), also regarded as a Top 100 prospect.

Young's decision will spark talk of a "best recruiting class ever" scenario for Kentucky. The Wildcats are also in the mix for five-star forwards Aaron Gordon, Marcus Lee and Julius Randle.
