Covering High School Sports in America

Sometimes the sidelines of a football field can be a dangerous place to be.

Hickory Grove Christian (Charlotte, N.C.) assistant coach Titus Ivory experienced that first hand last week.

As he stood on the sideline with his son during Friday night's against High Point Christian Academy, a High Point running back sprinted toward the sideline with a Hickory Grove defender in pursuit.

The running back was bumped out of bounds and slid on the ground directly toward Ivory's son, Titus Jr.

Ivory quickly grabbed his son and swung him out of the way of what surely would have been a violent collision.

Not only did Ivory and Hickory Grove avoid any sideline injuries, the team also won the game 38-20.
