Bob Sphire and North Gwinnett notched a very impressive victory on Friday night against Grayson.

Grayson (Loganville, Ga.), the defending large school champion in the the state of Georgia, was stunned by North Gwinnett (Suwanee, Ga.) 28-10 in the Class AAAAAA playoffs on Friday night.

Three field goals gave North Gwinnett a 9-3 lead at the half. The Bulldogs completely dominated the second half, registering two touchdowns, a safety, and another field goal to come away with the 28-10 win.

The loss brings Grayson's season to a shocking and disappointing end. The Rams began the season ranked No. 2 nationally but were upset by Parkview in September. They battled back and rose to No. 11 in the rankings and looked like the favorite to emerge from a loaded Class AAAAAA playoff bracket.

North Gwinnett meanwhile has put together a very impressive season, with its only loss coming to Norcross, 31-21. In addition to Grayson, North Gwinnett also has a victory over Colquitt County.

With the win, North Gwinnett advances to face Lovejoy in the regional finals of the Class AAAAAA playoffs.
