Robert Weiner has decided to stay at Plant.

Robert Weiner has had a change of heart.

The highly successful high school coach, who built Plant (Tampa, Fla.) into one of Florida's top football dynasties, announced on Sunday that he was leaving to take an assistant coach position with the University of South Florida.

According to the Tampa Bay Times, Weiner has decided to return to Plant and forgo an opportunity to enter the college ranks.

"Coach Weiner is a great coach and a man who will continue to do great things at Plant," Bulls coach Willie Taggart said in a statement, as reported by Greg Auman of the Times. "We knew pulling him away from the young men in the Plant program would be very difficult for him, and we wish him continued tremendous success moving forward."

On Sunday, Weiner had met with his team to inform them of his plans to leave Plant in an emotional goodbye.
