Tyra Buss poured in 47 points to lead Mt. Carmel (Ill.) to an 82-70 girls basketball victory over North (Evansville, Ind.).

The 5-foot-7 sophomore guard continued to prove she is one of the premier players in the Class of 2014 by drilling six of 12 shots from 3-point range (10 of 24 overall) and 21 of 28 free throws. Already the Aces' career scoring leader, Buss raised her average to a glossy 35.8, which is No. 3 in the nation and closing in on the leader's 36.3 mark.

She started slowly, taking just five shots in the first quarter, before stepping it up considerably over the final three periods.

Buss, who scored a school-record 52 points as a freshman, told the Evansville Courier & Press, "I tried to let the game come to me and get into the flow. I wanted to get into a rhythm. I was knocking it down tonight."
