senior Haley Crouser, who holds the national javelin record, announced over the weekend that she will attend the University of Oregon in the fall, according to the Oregonian. She also visited UCLA, Texas A&M and Oklahoma.
The multi-talented 6-footer established the national record last summer when she threw the javelin 181 feet, 2 inches. She also was the girls high-point performer during the Class 6A state track meet while winning the javelin, shot put and 100-meter hurdles. She added the U.S. Junior javelin title in June.
At Oregon she will be joining her brother, Sam, who is a redshirt sophomore thrower. She is expected to throw the javelin and do several other events.
