The sixth annual NorCal Tip Off Classic is set for Nov. 24 at Newark Memorial High School and as is the norm for the event, will showcase many of the Bay Area's top teams and prospects.
The slate is full of intriguing matchups with the 8:30 p.m. pairing of
Deer Valley (Antioch) and
Sacramento at the top of the list. Deer Valley features five-star forward
Marcus Lee, ranked No. 21 in the MaxPreps Class of 2013 Top 100. Along with point guard
Kendall Smith, Lee helped the Wolverines go 22-9 a year ago and will look to elevate the program into the elite in the North Coast Section in 2012-13.
Host
Newark Memorial takes on
Castro Valley and junior standout
Derrick Clayton. Those two programs combined for 51 wins a year ago.
Coming off a 30-win season,
Antelope will be another team to watch with seniors Gabe Bealer and Isaiah Ellis in the lineup.
