Following the murder of 15-year-old Jarmaine Walton a little over a week ago in Birmingham, several members of Alabama's Class 5A basketball state championship team at Wenonah are speaking out.

All-staters Justin Coleman, Isaiah Maston and De'Runya Wilson are among the players that addressed the violence plaguing their city in an impassioned two-minute video posted on YouTube.

The city has been rocked by violent incidents in the last week. According to the Examiner, there have been 13 violent deaths in Birmingham since March 15, including the shooting of Walton in a park popular with walkers and families.

Wenonah won its third state title in a row earlier this month, finishing the season 34-2 and ranked nationally by MaxPreps.
