Covering High School Sports in America
Jon Kitna, who served as a backup quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks for three games this season, is set to become the new head coach of Lincoln (Tacoma, Wash.), according to KING-5 TV.

A graduate of Lincoln, Kitna attended Central Washington before spending 15 seasons in the NFL with four different teams.

He takes over for Michael Merrill, who led the team to a 4-6 record last year.

Kitna is only the most recent former NFL player to join the high school coaching ranks.

Last season, Brooks Bollinger, who spent time with the Jets, Vikings and Cowboys took over the coaching reins at Hill-Murray, leading the Minnesota school to a 9-3 record in his first season.
