Jeremy Hemsley hit the game-winning shot in Wednesday's state playoff victory.

In the high school version of March Madness, state playoffs bring a series of great finishes like the one we all saw from New Rochelle last week.

But it's rare that we are treated to two buzzer-beaters in the same game, and thanks to Fred Robledo of the L.A. Daily News, we have video of a truly spectacular finish.

In a CIF-State Boys Basketball Division III first-round regional playoff game in Southern California Wednesday night, first Mission Oak's (Tulare) Blake Shannon banked in a half-court shot at the end of regulation to send the game to overtime.

The miracle shot would have broken the spirits of some teams, but Damien (La Verne) would not be denied at home. Trailing 72-71 with 2.4 seconds left in overtime, sophomore Jeremy Hemsley came to the rescue with a game-winning three-pointer, giving the Spartans a 74-72 win.

Hemsley finished with 31 points, seven assists and six rebounds, and Damien advances to play Chaminade (West Hills) on Saturday.

Robledo also spoke with Hemsley and Damien head coach Matt Dunn after the game:
