Headed to Arizona in the fall, Stanley Johnson had his jersey retired at Mater Dei during the team's annual banquet Monday night.

It just wouldn't seem right to put jersey No. 41 on another player at Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.).

Not after all that Stanley Johnson accomplished with that number at the Orange County school.

So head coach Gary McKnight has elected to take Johnson's jersey out of the rotation at Mater Dei and hang it in the rafters at the school's luxurious Meruelo Athletic Center.

The Monarchs made it official Monday night during the team's annual banquet, according to head coach Gary McKnight. Johnson, a 6-foot-6, 225-pound guard, is a consensus top five prospect in the 2014 class and will play for Arizona next season.

Here's a look at Johnson's accomplishments at Mater Dei:

* Helped Monarchs go 135-7 and win four state titles. Finished 2013-14 season ranked No. 1 nationally by MaxPreps.

* In addition to MaxPreps National Player of the Year honors as a senior, named National Junior of the Year and first team All-American in 2012-13.

* Piled up over 2,200 points and 1,000 rebounds during four-year career.

* Won gold medals with USA Basketball at the 2012 FIBA U17 World Championship in Lithuania and the 2011 FIBA Americas U16 Championship in Mexico.

* Participated in prestigious McDonald's All-American Game and Jordan Brand Classic in April.
