struck out 19 batters as Wilmington Friends (Del.)
nipped St. Andrew's (Middletown, Del.) in a 1-0 baseball thriller.
He set the tone in the first inning when - after loading the bases with no outs - he struck out the side. He scattered three hits and the only two outs recorded by fielders both were on infield grounders.
Friends coach Mark Lemon told the News Journal, "He was throwing a tremendous breaking ball for strikes. At this level, if you're doing that it's pretty impressive. He had a lot of life on his fastball and had very good command of both his fastball and breaking ball. I've never seen a performance like that, one guy dominating a game like that."
The Quakers, who won for only the second time in eight outings, notched the game's lone run in the sixth inning on a double by Jeff Davis
and an RBI single by Matt Lankiewicz
