Northern Guilford (Greensboro, N.C.), which opened in 2007, notched its third-consecutive Class 3A state football title on Saturday with a 64-26 victory over Charlotte Catholic.

The Charlotte Observer reported that senior T.J. Logan set a state record by rushing for 510 yards. He needed just 28 carries and set the championship-game record with eight touchdowns. The 5-foot-11, 165-pound Logan, who scored three times in the fourth quarter, including runs of 82 and 73 yards, earned MVP honors.

Logan runs 40 yards in a swift 4.4 seconds and has made a commitment to attend the University of North Carolina.

Charlotte Catholic's outstanding junior, Elijah Hood, ran for 152 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
