Covering High School Sports in America
Much of the anticipation Saturday at the Tarkanian Classic in Las Vegas was aimed at the tournament final pitting California powers Mater Dei (Santa Ana) and Bishop O'Dowd (Oakland).

And with Findlay Prep (Henderson, Nev.) up by more than 20 points in its contest against Montrose Christian (Rockville, Md.), many of the fans at Bishop Gorman High School began looking ahead to Stanley Johnson and Ivan Rabb.

That's when Allonzo Trier of Montrose Christian went bonkers, scoring 26 points in the second half en route to a game-high 36. His heroics helped the Maryland school knot the game at 61 with 10 seconds left.

Then this happened (thanks to Bishop Gorman student Darien Scott for the video):

The pass was thrown by Patrick McCaw and finished by Raymond Doby. Both players transferred to Montrose from the St. Louis area over the summer.

Montrose won 63-61 and fans went home happy.

UPDATE: Tarkanian Classic official photographer and MaxPreps contributor Nick Koza shared this incredible photo of the final play:
