of Deer Valley (Antioch, Calif.)
is one of the top big men in his class. The 6-foot-9, 205-pound senior is ranked as the No. 2 power forward and No. 9 player overall in his class according to 247Sports.
Lee will continue basketball and academics next year at the legendary University of Kentucky.
For Lee, playing college basketball is the culmination of a dream that started very early on in life.
"We have a picture of [Marcus] standing there with a diaper on and a t-shirt, shooting a ball," said Sheri Lee, Marcus' mother.
While Marcus is one of the most highly regarded recruits in the entire country, Deer Valley head coach Lechet Phillips says that he always puts the team first and works hard to put his teammates in a position to succeed.
Lee has gotten to where he is today thanks to a tremendous work ethic and the continued support from his family, coaches and teammates.
"I always put in that time just because there are so many people that have helped me out," he said. "I've always wanted to make them proud and show them that everything they've done isn't just for a waste."
