Torrodney Prevot, Alief Taylor

Torrodney Prevot, one of the top defensive ends in his class, committed to Oregon today after decommitting from USC earlier in the week.

The 6-foot-4, 217-pound star from Alief Taylor (Houston) was also considering Texas A&M.

Prevot is ranked as the No. 8 defensive back in his class by MaxPreps recruiting expert Tom Lemming and No. 5 by the 247Sports composite rankings.

"I was very impressed with Mr. Prevot during our meeting in early January," said Lemming. "He's an exceptionally slippery pass rusher with great awareness, agility and surprising strength."

Despite the departure of coach Chip Kelly, Oregon has managed to land some high-profile recruits, with Prevot becoming the latest addition.
