Covering High School Sports in America
Think back to your days as a seventh-grader for just a moment. Chances are you usually were thinking about that cute boy or girl in class, or complaining about how much homework that annoying teacher assigned.

Then there is Olivia McGrath. In addition to being a seventh-grader at Boston Latin Academy (Dorchester, Mass.), McGrath also is a starting pitcher for the varsity softball team. As reported by The Boston Globe, McGrath won her second consecutive game last week, and in her two starts she has 12 strikeouts. She also had two hits in her latest victory, a 12-6 win against New Mission.

McGrath shares the pitching circle with her older sister, Sydney McGrath, who is a junior for the Dragons.

"Olivia is our varsity pitcher and she is smooth just like her older sister," coach Rocco Zizza told the newspaper. "Both sisters have a fierce rivalry and are always competing against each other and that motivates them in practice."
