Covering High School Sports in America

One of the alarming trends last week in Las Vegas was the number of players headed to new schools in the fall.

So many transfer situations revealed themselves it became a regular part of my interview routine.

"Are you headed back to the same school this year?"

Often times, the answer was "no."

A set of identical twin brothers entering their sophomore seasons will cause the biggest stir with their relocation.

Aaron and Andrew Harrison were among the most impressive young players in Las Vegas last week. Aaron is a true point guard at 6-foot-5 and a potential top-five talent in the class of 2013. Andrew, a shooting guard or wing with an identical build, isn't far behind.

The two played junior varsity basketball at Strake Jesuit (Houston, Texas) last season but will be relocating to Fort Bend Travis (Richmond, Texas) for their sophomore seasons.

Other transfers of note include;

* Rutgers commitment Jordan Goodman is leaving Progressive Christian Academy (Camp Springs, Md.) for a yet-to-be-determined school. Quality Education Academy (Winston-Salem, N.C.) and Word of God Christian Academy (Raleigh, N.C.) are among the schools he is considering.

* Rising junior standout Deonte Burton is leaving Vincent (Milwaukee, Wis.) for Brewster Academy (Wolfeboro, N.H.).

* Joe Northington of the Memphis Magic Elite is joining summer teammate Adonis Thomas at Melrose (Memphis, Tenn.), according to Thomas. Northington spent his junior season at Manassas.

* Emmanuel Ochenje could be headed to Sheldon (Sacramento, Calif.) after a year at Brehm Prep (Carbondale, Ill.). The Nigeria native will make the move provided the CIF doesn't block him from playing basketball due to transfer rules.

* Michael Young, a 6-7 rising sophomore from McKeesport, Pa., is headed to St. Benedict's Prep (Newark, N.J.). Niagara Falls, N.Y., sophomore Dajon Streeter, a 6-3 guard, was also listed as a Gray Bee in the Fab 48, although that move has not been confirmed by MaxPreps.

* Former Mesa (Mesa, Ariz.) wing Danny Powell is transferring to Desert Vista (Phoenix, Ariz.).
