8:47 a.m. EST One of the fastest rising recruits in the country resides outside the continental United States: Punahou (Honolulu, Hawaii) safety
Jeremy Ioane.
Ioane was virtually unheard of at the start of the season, but has become the subject of a recruiting war since his
highlight tape began to circulate in December.
Since then, Ioane has been hearing from a number of schools, including Washington, Boise State, and Stanford.
However, once source with knowledge of Ioane's recruitment believes that ultimately, he's likely to pick Notre Dame on National Signing Day.
Former Punahou teammates
Roby Toma and
Manti Te'o are both freshman at Notre Dame, and that could be enough to sway Ioane. If not, look for him to end up at Washington or Boise State.
