Wayne Selden

Following a weekend visit to Kansas, five-star guard Wayne Selden has made a pledge to head coach Bill Self and the Jayhawks.

Following a flurry of media reports, Selden confirmed the development Monday morning via Twitter. He is regarded as the nation's No. 17 overall senior prospect by MaxPreps.

A powerful shooting guard at 6-foot-5 and 230 pounds, the Tilton School (Tilton, N.H.) senior was regarded as a Class of 2014 prospect until June when he elected to reclassify and fast track his college career.

Selden's most notable success has come on the club circuit with the acclaimed Boston Amateur Basketball Club. He joined Jaylen Brantley, Maryland freshman Jaye Layman, Iowa State freshman Georges Niang and Kentucky freshman Nerlens Noel to help the program capture Nike's highly-competitive Elite Youth Basketball League title in 2011.

He was also a teammate of Noel's at Tilton and the pair helped lead the Rams go 25-6 and reach the NEPSAC Class AA title game last winter.

Selden is the fourth member of Kansas' 2013 recruiting class. The Jayhawks – No. 5 in our look at the nation's top classes last week – also have commitments from in-state guard Conner Frankamp, post-graduate guard Frank Mason and Georgia wing Brannen Greene.
