Success came fast for coach Jamey DuBose at
Prattville (Ala.). Now the man who took Prattville to amazing heights is moving on up to see if he can do the same at
Florence (Ala.).
The Times Daily reported Friday that the school board approved DuBose as the new football coach at the school in the northern reaches of Alabama. He will earn $87,000 in compensation for his teaching and coaching duties.
DuBose leaves a Prattville program that went 12-2, won the Alabama 6A title and
finished No. 22 in the final MaxPreps Xcellent 25 National Football Rankings presented by the Army National Guard. The newspaper reported he went 42-13 at Prattville, which took on national powers like Don Bosco Prep (Ramsey, N.J.) and St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.).
It's certainly a big chunk of money, but nobody can doubt that Florence is getting a coach with a proven track record - and two title rings in the past four years.
