Michigan offered Oak Hills junior offensive lineman Caleb Stacey on March 17. Stacey, who is one of the state's top players in the 2011 class, took an unofficial visit to Ann Arbor on March 17. Stacey, who is 6-foot-4 and 280 pounds, also has 12 other offers including Boston College, Wake Forest, Cincinnati and others.

* According to several news outlets including, junior offensive lineman Anthony Stanko has verbally committed to Penn State. A 6-foot-5, 295-pounder from Howland (Warren), Stanko also has offers from Akron, Kent State, Northwestern, Stanford and West Virginia. He is the first member of Penn State's 2012 recruiting class.

Middletown junior wide receiver/safety Zach Edwards added an offer from the University of Cincinnati. Edwards, who is 6-foot-1 and 175 pounds, also has an offer from Bowling Green . … Colerain junior linebacker Joe Bolden said he plans to visit Michigan on March 24. Bolden, who has 17 scholarship offers, is also considering visits to schools that include North Carolina, North Carolina State, Northwestern, Tennessee and Georgia Tech during spring break. … Wyoming junior offensive lineman Terry Davis added an offer from Indiana. Davis, who is 6-4 and 295 pounds, also has offers from Akron, Kent State, Ohio, Toledo and Bowling Green .

Zebb Schroeder was named the new football coach at Hayes (Delaware) last week, according to reports on It will be the first head coaching job for Schroeder, who has 10 years of coaching as an assistant. He replaces Mike LoParo, who is leaving at the end of the school year to become Hilliard Bradley's coach.

Schroeder spent the past eight seasons at Olentangy Liberty, including serving the last seven years as the Patriots' offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. During his tenure, Liberty won four OCC championships and made the playoffs six times.

Avon junior defensive lineman Bryan Cox has begun to rack up a significant number of offers. According to, Cox was offered by Akron and Michigan State last week to add to a list of offers that already included North Carolina, Indiana, Ohio University, Louisville, Minnesota and Youngstown State. … The University of Toledo also has been busy making offers. According to, the school now has offered juniors Kent Kern of St. John's Jesuit (Toledo), Mike Svetina of St. Ignatius (Cleveland), Roger Lewis of Pickerington Central (Pickerington), Maty Mauk of Kenton, Alex Pace of Glenville (Cleveland) and Arlington McClinton of Midview (Grafton). … The Akron Beacon Journal is reporting that Minerva junior tight end/wide receiver Kyle Crum has been offered a scholarship by Louisville. Crum is a 6-4, 210-pounder who has run the 40 in 4.53.
