All four of the highly touted prospects from the tri-county South Florida region who were ranked in the MaxPreps Top 100 national recruiting rankings signed Wednesday with the programs to which they had made verbal commitments.

Wayne Lyons of Dillard (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.), the No. 4-ranked safety in the nation, is headed to the Pac-10 after signing with Stanford. Kelvin Benjamin of Glades Central (Belle Glade, Fla.), the No. 7-ranked wide receiver in the nation, gave a strong Florida State signing class another top prospect. Nick O'Leary of Dwyer (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) stuck to his commitment and also will be a Seminole. Teddy Bridgewater of Northwestern (Miami), the No. 6-rated combo quarterback on that board, signed with Louisville, which gained his commitment after Randy Shannon was fired at Miami.

Two players ranked among the MaxPreps Top 25 at their position who had not made a verbal commitment prior to Wednesday made their decisions public. Jerrard Randall of Chaminade-Madonna (Hollywood, Fla.), the No. 18-ranked combo quarterback, signed with Oregon. Marcus Roberson of St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale,  Fla.), rated the No. 10-best cornerback prospect, is taking his talent to Gainesville after choosing Florida. Kent Turene of Boyd Anderson (Lauderdale Lakes, Fla.), ranked No. 12 on the inside linebacker board, signed with Georgia. Also, No. 20-ranked defensive end Curt Maggitt of Dwyer (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) shunned an offer from Florida and signed with SEC rival Tennessee.
