Lance McCullers Jr.

The 6-foot-2, 205-pound right-handed pitcher starred for Jesuit (Tampa, Fla.), which reached the Class 5A state semifinals while compiling a 28-2 record. He finished with a flawless 13-0 record and gave up just two earned runs in 77 1/3 innings. His ERA was a microscopic 0.18. He struck out 140 and walked 30. In addition, he scored 27 runs, drove in 21 runs and stole 10 bases in as many tries.

Last summer McCullers received the Jackie Robinson Award as the nation's most promising senior prospect and he fulfilled that promise with the Gatorade award.

He had a B average in the classroom and has signed with the University of Florida, but is expected to be a high pick in the upcoming Major League Draft.
