Covering High School Sports in America

It's district playoff time in Washington. Winners advance toward state. Losers go home.

That was the scenario Tuesday night as Evergreen (Vancouver) met Greater St. Helens League rival Camas in a loser-out game.

Evergreen trailed by two with seconds left in regulation as the video above begins. The Plainsmen throw the ball nearly the length of the court to Division I recruit Robert Franks Jr., who struggles to control it, appears to be fumbling out of bounds and then ... pandemonium ensues following what could be the buzzer beater of the year.

Franks, a 6-foot-7 junior being recruited by the likes of Portland State, finished with 16 points and sparked Evergreen to a 74-68 victory in overtime.

Special thanks to junior Nathan Gulliford (@NathanGulliford) of Mountain View High School and his buddy Josh (who declined to provide last name, we suspect he told parents he was studying) for sharing the video.
