California High School Basketball - Palma can't hold off Piedmont Hills

(January 3, 2009: San Jose, CA 95132) The Palma Chieftains basketball team (Salinas, CA), was nudged 52-46 in Saturday's non-league battle with the host Piedmont Hills Pirates (San Jose, CA)

The Pirates now sport a 13-0 record. They play next when they travel to Santa Teresa for a Mount Hamilton battle on Wednesday, January 7. Piedmont Hills will meet a Saints team coming off a 59-50 non-league win over Sobrato (Morgan Hill, CA). The Saints record now stands at 8-3.

The Chieftains (6-7) will now prepare for their battle against Alisal (Salinas, CA). The Trojans come into the Tri-County battle with a 13-2 record.
